Hanna & Ike

These two look like major trouble-makers--Ike in particular.

My cousin Ashley got me hooked on the blog Confessions of a CF Husband several months ago. The guy who writes it is married to Tricia who has Cystic Fibrosis and while trying to get on the waiting list for a lung transplant, discovered she was pregnant. You can read the whole story on the blog. It's very inspiring. They live in the Outer Banks of NC (or the OBX for you hipsters) and are waiting to find out if they will have to evacuate.

Also, one of our clients at my work, New Hanover Regional Medical Center, is located in Wilmington, NC and they informed us this morning they have been instructed to evacuate and all non-essential personnel had to leave the hospital.

We're all well aware of the damage a hurricane can do. Tricia did have her transplant and is currently receiving chemo for post-transplant lymphoma. They also have a former micro-preemie 8-month old. And, I wouldn't even begin to know the number of patients receiving life-saving care at New Hanover right now--not to mention countless others on the Atlantic coast. I post all this to say, please keep these people in your prayers.
